This place is fabulous! Visited there six years ago, could not remember the name but was able to find it on Google maps. It was so exciting to go back there and find that the memory of it was just as wonderful as the restaurant itself. Highly recommend the lunch menu with course selections--have the Risotto alla Pescatora-- so much wonderful food. The service is amazing as is the homemade Limoncello!

We were a group of hot and sweaty tourists stopping at Trevi fountain. One man heard our cries for food and beer. A restaurant pamphlet man told us that there was food and beer and most importantly of all AIR CONDITIONING at the place he was advertising. He led us away (only 1 minute walk) to the restaurant in a quite little back street. He high fived us as we walked in and left us to the mercy of the staff.
This quant little restaurant is in the cool under part of an old city building. You can relax and allow yourself to be swept away by the chill atmosphere. In my opinion time moves slower when your hungry, but service was very fast indeed.
Food was out before we knew it. The pizza was effortlessly perfect. Simple yet flavoursome. Lite yet filling. The wife had pasta that was like no other pasta I've ever tasted. It was just beyond imaginary. It was everything I expected and more. The pure definition of al denta. The sauce was petite yet bold and full of personality. We had panacota for desert. Again simple yet undeniably full of flavour.
The staff were very nice, the place was very relaxed and food was above and beyond. A sure fire gem only a short walk from the fountain. As it was a little bit off the tourist radar it wasn't packed, a blessing if you ask me.
Funny story. Used the toilet there, went to go wash my hands and after soaping them up I was met by a single tap without any hot/cold handles. I was doing everything to get it working. It didn't have motion sensors. It didn't respond to my sensual dance moves. I was stuck in the bathroom with soapy hands and a tap that I had no idea how to utilize. After much confusion I glanced down and noticed the foot pedal that ran up underneath the sink. With this new found knowledge I pressed down on the pedal and my hands were rinsed. -

Carbonara and gnocchi was a bit plain and under-seasoned. Pizza was a little too salty for my taste. But overall, the quality wasn't all that terrible.
What ruined the experience tho was how the server lied and fumbled for excuses to NOT honor the yelp offer (15 % off a la carte bill). He initially told us we had to tell him immediately when seated. Then he changed it to we had to have made a reservation through yelp. When I showed him on the app that Fontana did not offer that feature - he stormed off and told us to just eat. All the exchanges happened before our food arrived. It wasn't as if he brought out the check and then I approached him with "btw I wanted to use my yelp offer".
Service was painfully slow. They turned off the free WiFi as soon as I challenged his yelp reservation excuse. Passive aggressive much? Don't let the quiet alley lure u - Fontana is no hidden gem. -

Hidden gem near the Trevi Fountain. If you get easily lost like me even with Google maps, I would recommend you to come in the daytime as it is in an alleyway that might seem sketch at night, especially if you don't know your way around Rome very well.
The manager of the restaurant was really nice. We came back a second time and he remembered us, and was so happy he gave us champagne on the house! We were thinking of trying something different our second night, but ended up getting the same dishes anyways.
My mom and I ordered:
- Fettuccine with truffle and stracciatella di mozzarella di bufala
- Seafood carbonara
- Tiramisu
- White chocolate souffle
Keep in mind the portions here are kind of small so you might think this is pricey, but I could really taste the quality that went into making the food. -

First restaurant I found with Vegan options available on their menu.
Fast service with super friendly waiters.
I ordered the salmon and my wife ordered the pistachio cream pasta. We also ordered the stuffed zucchini blossoms for starters. First off the food is presented beautifully. Second it tasted just as wonderful as it looked. The salmon had a nice crunch on outside and the pasta was al dente with a lovely cream sauce. The zucchini blossoms were surprisingly good considering they weren't fried.
